JSU-Mississippi Delta Center of Excellence <\/span>in Maternal Health<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

MISSION:<\/strong><\/span> To prevent maternal mortality, reduce severe morbidity, and promote health equity among postpartum women who reside in Mississippi Delta counties (Washington, Carroll, Bolivar, Humphreys), and Scott County, using community-based participatory research (CBPR) approaches.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

The BIG PICTURE<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The center builds on <\/span>several established projects<\/span><\/i> and collaborations among public, academic, and community-based partners. The research projects and training program \u2013 developed through extensive meetings with all partners \u2013 are designed to provide viable solutions and successfully address maternal morbidity and mortality for women residing in the Mississippi Delta and the disparities within maternal healthcare.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n
